Progress
Recording pupil attainment and progress (from emerging to embedded) enables you to understand how well a pupil is progressing through each of the statements of what matter. Please see Tracking for more information.
Using this information enables you to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of a pupil, class and cohort, and provides you with the information needed to ensure that the correct next steps are identified for each pupil. See Individual Area Summaries section of Pupil Overview for more.
Viewing Current Year Progress
On Taith360, the Pupil, Class and School Overview pages are where you can always see the progress made in the current academic year compared with attainment in all years prior.

In these sections you can view progress through each of the areas for all progression steps.
On Class Overview, you can see the current attainment and progress made this year averaged out for the class, or for the selected year group within that class. Whereas on School Overview you can see the same but averaged out on a cohort by cohort basis.
Each of the progress bars is split into three colours:
- Blue – combined progress over previous years.
- Yellow – progress made in the current academic year.
- White – Potential progress
A ‘full bar’ is not the target here, and the percentage displayed is not intended for use as a label.
If a pupil is Embedded in every description of learning in an area at a particular progression step, that bar will be 100% filled. Any combination of attainments therein will then affect the percentage displayed. However, it is not necessary to complete a progression step before moving onto the next. Indeed it is unlikely that a bar will ever be 100% full – if a pupil is mostly secure with elements of embedded in a progression step, it is likely that your focus will now be on the next progression step, and there is no need to retro-fill the previous step.
It will often be the case where pupils will be working across multiple progression steps within an area.
By viewing progression through all areas side-by-side, you can quickly see where a pupil, class, or cohort are doing particularly well or need additional support. This information can also be exported in percentage form to a spreadsheet by clicking on the Export button.
You can also use Class Overview to compare progress and attainment between pupils (to identify potential intervention groups) and School Overview to compare contextual groups (such as boys versus girls), to ensure there is no clear gap between these groups. You do this by clicking on the Progression Step you wish to view in more detail.

Viewing Progress Between Selected Dates
In addition to what has been described already, there is also a way to see how a pupil, class or cohort is progressing between fixed dates, whether that be narrowed down to a term or half term, or expanded out to cover multiple years. This enables you to focus on the results of a specific intervention, or the success of a particular unit of work.
This feature shows progress through each of the areas for all progression steps and again is split into three colours, though they are different to what has been used on the Pupil, Class and School Overview pages. This time you will see:
- Lilac – progress made outside of selected dates.
- Dark Purple – progress made within selected dates.
- White – Potential progress
