Coverage

Taith360 tracks coverage of the Curriculum for Wales through the Plan feature. Every time a Description of Learning (DoL) is added to a plan, a coverage count is recorded for that class. Please see Planning for a guide on creating plans.

Coverage can be viewed in detail for each of the Descriptions of Learning within an Area, as well as an overview of each aspect that can be planned for.

Coverage Overview

Coverage Overview shows overall coverage across each aspect that can be added to a plan for classes, groups and cohorts. To get to the Overview page, Select Coverage then Coverage Overview from the Menu bar.

Step & Area

This page shows the coverage spread for the selected class across all areas. From this page, you can see which areas have been planned for and at what Progression Step for the current academic year. Simply select the class you would like to view from the dropdown.

Each graph shows, as a percentage, how much of each progression step has been covered in the current academic year. This lets you see which progression step your class is mostly working within, at a glance.

What Matters

On this page, you can narrow down the data seen on the Step & Area coverage page in greater detail. Once you have selected your class, area, and progression step, you will see a breakdown of how many DoLs within each what matters statement (WM) have been included in no plans, one plan, two plans, or more.

Select a Class.
Choose the Area and Step to be viewed.
Hover over each section of the pie charts to see how many DoLs fall into each category.

Below each chart is a summary of attainment for the current year within each WM. This bar is in the same format as the overall attainment bars found on the pupil, class, and school overview pages where yellow is the progress made in the current academic year, and blue is progress in previous years.

In the example above, DoLs from the first two WMs have been included in plans, but so far, not a single DoL from ‘Expressing ourselves through languages is key to communication’ or ‘Literature fires imagination and inspires creativity’ have been planned for yet this year. This suggests that for this particular class, they may need to now focus on those WMs.

Four Purposes

When you select the Four Purposes option, you can monitor the coverage of each of the four purposes during the current academic year. Once you have selected the class you wish to view from the dropdown, you will see a series of charts.

The pie chart shows total overall coverage for each of the four purposes, allowing you to check that the class is being given chances to work on the four purposes in a balanced manner. Below the pie chart, each of the purposes is broken down letting you see where the coverage is within each of the four purposes.

Principles of Progression

Track coverage of the Principles of Progression. Each time you include any Principle of Progression in a plan, a count is recorded and a summary can be viewed here. Once you select the class you wish to view, you will see a breakdown of the Principles of Progression included in plans for the current academic year.

The pie chart shows the total for each area, while the bar charts below show in more detail which of the particular principles in each area have been selected.

Coverage Detail

The Coverage Detail page shows every DoL at each Progression Step. The coloured bar reflects the current attainments for the selected class (showing the same attainments as the Track and Plan pages), while the number in the black circle shows the coverage count for that particular DoL. Coverage is counted against a class every time a DoL is added to a plan. Each plan assigned to a class in the current academic year adds to the coverage count.

Select Coverage then Coverage Detail from the Menu bar.

Select either My Classes or All Classes.

If My Classes is selected, only classes you are assigned to will be displayed in the Group dropdown.
If All Classes is selected, you will be able to choose from all of the classes currently in your school.

Choose which Class you wish to view.
Select the Area you wish to view. You can also view the LNF, DCF, and Developmental Pathways areas here.

All Statements of What Matter will be displayed by default, but you can use the multi-select dropdown to narrow your choices.
