Pupil Management

Pupils on Taith360 are either updated automatically by your Management Information System or ‘MIS’ (SIMS, Teacher Centre etc.) using the Wonde connection, or can be done so manually if you don’t use Wonde. However, if a pupil has been transferred to your school from another Taith360 school, you will need to use Taith360 to complete the transfer of the pupil and their attainments across to your school.

This page describes all of these processes with step-by-step user guides.

Managing Pupils Using Wonde

If your MIS is connected to Taith360 via Wonde, you don’t need to maintain pupil details on Taith360. When you make the changes in your MIS, whether that be adding a pupil, updating their details (name, date of birth, etc.) or removing them from your school, these changes will automatically transfer across to Taith360.

Remember that the sync between your MIS and Taith360 takes place overnight, and isn’t instantaneous. Any changes you make on your MIS will be seen on Taith360 the following day. However, if you need the changes to be made more urgently, contact our support team and we will be able to manually sync your schools (this can normally be completed within approximately two hours).

Although this process is automatic, if the pupil has transferred across from another Taith360 school, you will need to complete the transfer of the pupil to your school. To do this, see Transferring a Pupil’s Data to Your School further down this page.

Managing Pupils Without Wonde (Manually)

If you don’t use Wonde, then you will need to maintain the pupil information on Taith360 as well as maintaining them within your MIS. However, it is fairly straightforward to do this, and the support team is always on hand to help you with this when needed.

Adding a Pupil Manually

Select Pupils.
Click + Add (this can be found at the top and the bottom of the page).
Enter pupil details.

The date of admission will default to today’s date when you click in the box, but you can select any date as is applicable.
There is no need to use the Leaving Date field at this stage.

Choose a class you would like to add them into.

Select a class/group you would like to add the pupil into.
Click + to add them into the class. The class you have added them into will appear below.

Repeat A and B for all classes the pupil belongs in.

If the pupil has transferred across from another Taith360 school, you will need to complete the transfer of the pupil to your school. To do this, see Transferring a Pupil’s Data to Your School further down this page.

Manually Changing Pupil Details

You may occasionally need to make changes to pupil details, such as name changes or correcting any mistakes with the original data entry. Doing this is quite straightforward.

Select Pupils.
Click Edit for the pupil being updated.
Make any changes that need making.
Click Save.

Removing a Pupil Manually

Select Pupils.
Click Delete.
Click Yes to confirm deletion from your school.

Transferring a Pupil’s Data to Your School

Once the new pupil has been added, either via Wonde or manually, you won’t be able to make any assessments or changes to that pupil until they have been properly transferred to your school. This is so that you can choose whether to bring the pupil across with or without any assessments recorded in their previous schools.

Select Transfer Pupil.
Select Transfer.
Choose whether you wish to bring across the assessments from the previous school, or discard them and start again.
Click Confirm.

Transferring Multiple Pupils

To save time, you may wish to transfer multiple pupils on Transfer Pupil in one go. If you are going to do this, you must be happy to make the same decision for all selected pupils in terms of what you will do with their existing assessments.

Select Transfer Pupil.
Select each of the pupils you wish to transfer.
Select Transfer Pupils Selected.
Choose whether you wish to bring across the assessments from their previous schools, or discard them and start again.
Click Confirm.

Transferring All Pupils

To save time, you may wish to transfer all of the pupils on Transfer Pupil in one go. If you are going to do this, you must be happy to make the same decision for all selected pupils in terms of what you will do with their existing assessments.

Select Transfer Pupil.
Select Transfer All.
Choose whether you wish to bring across the assessments from the previous school, or discard them and start again.
Click Confirm.

Registering a Pupil as Dual Schooled

On occasion you may have pupils that need to be registered in two schools at the same time. If a pupil is set as dual schooled on Taith360, both schools may be able to record assessments for that pupil (depending on the read only settings – see below). However, Attitude to Learning, Wellbeing, Pupil Comments and uploaded evidence are not shared between schools.

Select Transfer Pupil.
Select Dual School.
Decide whether either school should have read only access to the pupil, or whether both schools will be able to record assessments.
Click Confirm.
