Welcome back! We hope you had a wonderful summer and found some time to relax.
We understand this time of year is usually very busy, and this year is likely no exception. With that in mind, we’d like to take a moment to share a few important updates on what we’ve been working on over the summer, as well as what you can expect from us in the coming weeks.
Rolling forward to the 2024/25 Academic Year
With the new academic year upon us, it’s time to update Taith360. Before we can proceed, please ensure that your MIS (such as SIMS or Teacher Centre) has been rolled forward and is up to date.
Linked via Wonde
If your MIS is connected to Taith360 via Wonde, we’ll automatically roll Taith360 forward to the 2024/25 academic year overnight on Friday 6th September. This will happen without any action required on your part. However, if your MIS hasn’t been updated or you’re not ready for Taith360 to transition to the new year on that date, please let us know.
Manually updating Taith360
For those manually updating Taith360 by sending us data, we’ll be in touch within the next few days to outline what we need to complete the roll forward. If you’d like to move ahead sooner, feel free to contact us, and we’ll guide you through the process.
Adding On-Entry Assessments
Under the Curriculum for Wales, on-entry assessments are crucial for supporting learner progress. Schools must conduct assessments for newly registered pupils (excluding Year 6 to Year 7 transitions) within six weeks of their entry to gain insights into their abilities and aptitudes. These assessments guide tailored learning and should accommodate learners of varying ages, abilities, and aptitudes while supporting numeracy, literacy, and physical, social, and emotional development.
You can easily set up an on-entry assessment for new pupils using Taith360. For more information, visit our blog post and help and advice documentation.
Drop-in Sessions
To support this, we’ll be offering a series of drop-in, surgery-style demonstrations on the following dates:
• Tuesday, 10th September: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
• Wednesday, 11th September: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
In these sessions, we’ll provide a step-by-step walkthrough on how to set up and manage on-entry assessments within Taith360. Whether you’re new to the platform or just need a refresher, our team will guide you through the process, answer any questions, and offer practical tips to ensure you’re confident in using this feature.
The sessions will run on a continuous loop throughout the hour, so you can join at any time without worrying about missing the beginning. Whether you join at 3:30pm or later, you’ll be able to catch the demonstration and discussion at your convenience. It’s an informal, interactive opportunity to get hands-on support, so come with any queries you may have!
Personalise Taith360 to Suit Your Needs
Introducing the New Customisation Options Brochure
One of the key aspects of the new curriculum for Wales is adapting it to meet the unique needs of your learners, and Taith360 is designed to support this process. Over the summer, we’ve created a new document that highlights the various ways schools can customise Taith360 to best suit their needs. This brochure will be sent to schools next week, but if you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to reach out as we’re more than happy to discuss the available options with you.
As always, if you have any questions about any of this, please get in touch.
